Captain is currently learning the show canter. He is very gentle, but he is big, and he is fast in his gaits. A child or beginner would be fine with Captain as long as they took lessons to learn how to ride him and were not afraid of a big, powerful horse. I ride him sidesaddle and win. I hope to win the Amateur Gelding World Championship with him at the national Celebration some day. He certainly has enough talent to accomplish that goal. He is also a great trail horse. He has been on trail rides out of state a lot, and we trail ride him here just about weekly.
